The House (2015)

Written by Edie Shillue
Produced and directed by Patricia Byrne

An old house on a city street appears to be abandoned, but is in fact lived in by a group of foreign women. No one in the area pays much attention to it, it's just another house, they are just another group of foreigners. Apart from Marie, a local community worker, who watches a young woman staring out of one window at the same time every day. She has her suspicions but can she get anyone in the area to listen to her worries about what's going on in the house?

Reviews and comments

A massive thank you for the wonderful performance. The audience were very engaged and the feedback has been excellent

Finola Brennan, Donegal Anti-Trafficking Group

This was a thought provoking and accurate portrayal of human trafficking in Northern Ireland. The workshop following was beneficial to all who participated and helped clear up many of the myths that exist around the subject and its criminality.

Inspector Terence McKenna, PSNI

The performance and workshop was fantastic today. Over 30 women participated in the event and the group work and discussions were really effective.

Ann Marie White, Lower Ormeau Residents Action Group

Excellent medium for bringing across information, and making the audience aware of the human impact.
