Sole Roots Theatre Lab Project

September - November 2017

Wednesdays 6.30pm - 9pm

This new exciting project is a development of our Theatre Labs.  This is an 11 session pilot programme generating writing for stage from people with barriers to access due to disability and/or a mental health condition. The project will focus on devleping new scripts for the stage on themes of mental health and disability with support from professional actors.

The aims of the project are to: generate new writing representing mental health or disability themes; support creative communication skills development and positive health and well being; raise visibility and increase opportunity for active participation of people lesser represented on stage.

The workshops are facilitated by Shauna Kelpie who has been involved in developing many new productions for Sole Purpose and directing many of our plays. The project will conclude with an evening of rehearsed readings of the scripts generated on Wednesday 15th November.

If you would like to take part in this project please contact Patricia Byrne on solepurpose@mac.com  or phone  028 7127 9918

The project is supported by the Santander Foundation Discovery Grant.
