Under The Carpet is a short play about sexual abuse. It was written in consultation with various professionals working in the area of the prevention of sexual abuse. The play and project were developed over a period of two years. The aim of the project was to break down secrecy, which allows sexual abuse to continue in our midst.

The play was produced by Sole Purpose Productions in partnership with Children Are Precious (a steering group for education on issues of sexual abuse). Performances took place in March 2001 in The Playhouse and the University of Ulster at Magee.
