Camden Tales
on women, wealth and poverty.by Patricia Byrne

Camden Tales was adapted by Patricia Byrne from two of her previous short pieces – 93 Stroke 7 (which was at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 1996) and Only Messin’About. The play tells four stories from women of different class backgrounds. It is set at a bus stop in Camden Town, London.

It looks at themes of representations of women, wealth, poverty and Irish immigration to England. The adaptation was directed by Dave Duggan. It was performed in Castlederg in November 2002 at an event for local women’s groups.

‘An excellent piece’
Lorrie Kyle, Strabane District Council Arts Development Officer.
