Artistic
Director - Patricia Byrne
A writer, performer and Artistic Director of Sole Purpose Productions
Patricia has written and directed Under The Carpet and Snow White - The
Remix for Sole Purpose. She wrote and performed Don't Say A Word which
has been touring extensively throughout Ireland since 2004. It was recently
staged at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and was nominated for an Amnesty
International Freedom of Expression Award. Other performance work includes
The Peace Process Trilogy and The Recruiting Office by Dave Duggan. She
has performed in New York (2002) and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe (2004)
in Waiting....by Dave Duggan. She has a BA Hons in Theatre and Media Studies
from the University of Ulster and is currently doing an MA in Film and
Television Management and Policy.
Company Administrator - Nicola Schnurr
Is an Arts Administrator with 14 years experience. Nicola has
worked in a range of arts organisations in Edinburgh and in Derry Londonderry.
She has an extensive knowledge of all areas of administration within an
arts organisation. She has worked for the Scottish International Children's
Festival in Edinburgh and the Foyle Film Festival.
Co-Founder
- Dave Duggan
Dave Duggan was a founder member and co-artistic director of Sole Purpose
Productions for eleven years. He wrote and directed seven plays and four
sketches for the company. This work is available in Plays in a Peace Process
(Guildhall Press, 2008). Film work includes Tumbleturns and the Academy
Award nominated Dance Lexie Dance. He has written radio drama for RTÉ
and BBC Radio 4. A novel, The Greening of Larry Mahon, is published by
Guildhall Press. He recently won a Stewart Parker Trust/BBC Award for
his play in Irish Gruagairí. Dave left the company in 2008 to focus
on writing.
